"The best of both worlds" at the Förderprozess-Foren 2022, Würzburg

The „2022 Förderprozess-Foren“ in Würzburg demonstrated two important points: First, pump systems in the process industry must handle media not only reliably but also efficiently; in doing so, they are becoming increasingly smart. And second: Without a fully functioning hydrogen economy, the transformation to climate neutrality in the chemical industry will not work.

Richter Chemie-Technik was present at this traditional meeting of pump experts as an exhibitor and with a presentation: Dr. Stefan Ubben introduced the further developed magnetic drive pump MNK 125-100-315 and refuted the thesis that "pumps are nowadays out of development". On the contrary, development approaches adapted from the world of compressors have led to a new generation of plastic-lined magnetic drive pumps that close the gap between mechanical seal pumps and metal magnetic drive pumps in terms of efficiency, head and NPSH value.

Very impressive was the keynote speech by Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Michael Berger from the Institute for the Transformation of the Energy System, West Coast University of Applied Sciences, who pointed out, with a view to the future energy supply, that in the 1950s and 1960s people in Germany got along very well with half of their personal energy needs. Energy efficiency is not a technological problem, but rather a psychological one. And it can be solved.

The next Förderprozess-Foren will take place on November 20-21, 2023 - we can look forward to seeing what has happened by then in terms of the megatrends of digitization and hydrogen!
