A new generation of pumps combines the best of two worlds - Security and Optimal performance are no longer in contradiction anymore

Lined magnetic drive pumps deliver high safety and reliability when conveying corrosive, toxic or ultrapure media. However, this unique feature has so far come at the expense of some noticeable disadvantages concerning pump performance; in addition, plastic as the material limits the robustness of the impeller and thus the head that the pump can achieve.

Dr Stefan Ubben, Head of Product Management at Richter Chemie-Technik GmbH, a Unit of IDEX Corporation in Kempen, Germany, explains in an inspiring article in the VDMA magazine "Pumps and Compressors for the World Market 2022" how a new pump generation now closes this gap to mechanical seal pumps and metallic magnetic drive pumps - namely by combining innovations from compressor technology with experience from pump technology - the best of both worlds.
